Methodist Clergy Tasks Youths On Righteous Living To Influence Their Generation

Nigerians especially Christian youths have been charged to be wary of way-word life in order to influence their generation positively.

A clergyman, The Very Rev Sylvester Ugochukwu Madu, the Abuja Archdiocesan Youth Fellowship Coordinator, gave this charge on Sunday during the thanksgiving service to round off the 6th biennial Conference of the Abuja Archdiocesan Youths Fellowship.

The Conference was held at the Methodist Cathedral of Grace, Kubwa, Abuja with delegates from all the Dioceses of the church in Abuja and Niger state.

Quoting from Ephesians 5: 15, Very Rev Madu titled the sermon, “Be careful how you live your life”, he charged youths to live righteously so that “heaven would not regret, their creation.”

He charged Parents to help nurture “our children because the times we are is evil”, stressing that there are several distractions in the social media that can carry the attention of the youths away.

Madu told Church leaders to always support the cause of the youths as they are the strength of the church.

He also counselled parents to be careful of the way and manner they live their lives as they are the first role model of their children.

The cleric bemoaned the high level of frustration in Nigeria due to the economic quagmire urging those with no hope to turn to Jesus Christ, the living bread and they would live forever.

He then prophesied that the members of the youths fellowship of Abuja Archdiocese would possess their possession and be a force to reckon with in this country.

Earlier, the Bishop-elect of Ado Diocese of the church, Very Rev David Ogwuche Job had prayed to dedicate the new executive officers of the Cathedral of Grace Youth Fellowship led by Ambassador Joseph Abah.

The Conference was attended by the National President of the Methodist Youth Fellowship, Hon. Ambassador Michael Ezeh; the Secretary, Ambassador Obinna Anyawelechi, among other national officers of the Fellowship.
