Thursday, November 21, 2024 would remain unique in the history of Kubwa Methodist Family as members of the Church from all her component five Circuits welcomed Rt Revd Dr F A G Onoja, Her Third Bishop with pomp and peagentry.
Methodist members in the Diocese of Kubwa trooped out in large number to receive The Rt Revd Dr F. A. G. Onoja and his wife, Alice as he resumed for duties as the third Bishop of Methodist Church Nigeria, Diocese of Kubwa.
Translated from Agatu Diocese of the Archdiocese of Benue last August during the Ikot Ekpene Conference of the Church, Bishop Onoja succeeded Most Revd Dr C. O. Igwe who has since been translated to Ebonyi Archdiocese.
Addressing the congregation, the cleric tasked members to continue in good works which the Diocese was known for.
Quoting copiously from Ephesians chapter 2 vs 10, “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them,” Bishop Onoja noted that the Diocese have an enviable position in the Conference area, urging all to join him in sustaining her legacy.
The Diocese came 4th among over 100 Dioceses in the Conference Area in Seed of Faith remittances and 6th in Tithe of Tithes collection.
He said he has come to build on the foundation already laid stressing that under his watch, “all members would be treated equally as all human beings are equal before God, their maker”.
Officers and Boys of Kubwa I4 Battalion of the Boys Brigade were at hand to welcome the new Bishop to Kubwa.
The outgoing Lay President of the Diocese, Sir Engr Elder Kayode Opooshun led other church leaders to receive Bishop Onoja.
Methodist Diocese of Kubwa in Abuja Archdiocese created by the Church in 2012 was inaugurated in January 2013 With Rt Rev Dr Rufus Babalola as the Pioneer Bishop.
