‎Methodist Men’s Fellowship Ends Biennial Conference, Tasks Men On Greater Service For God, Premier Church

‎Methodist Men’s Fellowship has risen from her 24th/4th Annual/Biennial National Men’s Fellowship Conference held at Methodist Cathedral Otapete, Ilesa, Osun State with a charge to men to always build trust amongst themselves in order to prevent conflicts, hatred and unguarded utterances as brethren.

‎This was contained in a communique released by the Methodist Men’s Fellowship National Public Relations Officer, (NPRO), Sir ‘Tunde Babalola KJW, JP on Wednesday.

Men were tasked to offer selfless services to God and the premier Church – Methodist Church Nigeria.

According to the Communique, “To ensure a meaningful Theme tagged “Men, Arise unto greater service” Men should continue to use their professions to build (pro-bono) the fellowship, the Methodist Church Nigeria in particular, and support specific projects like outreaches, evangelism drive and church growth.

‎•Men must Arise unto greater service. Be the High Priest and uncompromised watchman of his home, his community, the church and by extension, his country without excuses whatsoever.

‎•Above all, for a man to Arise unto greater service successfully, such a man must be a praying man,” the communique stated.

‎Continuing, “With efforts for the Fellowship to have a sustainable income yielding project, the Conference expanded the membership of the project committee from current 2 members to 9 members as follows:

‎. Sir Kayode Beckley

‎. Sir Tunde Babalola

‎. Chief Okeniyi

‎. Evang Afolabi Osunleti

‎. Elder Thomas Nkuku

‎. Bro. Nwokoro Emmanuel

‎. Bro. Anirim Nwankwo

‎. Elder Samuel Peter and

‎. Elder Francis Anwana.”

‎The communique jointly signed by the National President, Sir Dr Kehinde Olasunkanmi Oladeji KJW; The Very Revd James A. Adikwu, the National Coordinator, Men’s Work, Methodist Church Nigeria and Elder Uche Achugbuo TFG, the National Secretary also said that    “Dioceses/Archdiocese owing the National Men’s Fellowship dues are to be published, while notifying their respective Archbishop/Bishop.

‎”Delegates to Conference directed that all Induction Certificate should come from the National Body. Defaulters to be sanctioned”.

‎Prominent members of the church were honoured with different categories of awards during the Conference.

They included the “Doyen of Methodist Knighthood and encyclopedia of Methodism, Sir Col. Adebola Ogunsanwo; the Secretary of Conference, Rt Revd Dr Babatunde Abiodun Taiwo; Bishop of Osogbo Diocese, Rt Revd Joel Olu Akinola; Aso Villa Chaplain, Rt Revd Prof STV Adegbite; Men’s Fellowship President Diocese of Nyanya, Bro Stephen Oji Ukeje and Cathedral Men’s Fellowship President in Kubwa Diocese, Bro Oluwaseyi Ajayi, among numerous others.

The awards were in four categories – Samuel Wesley Award, Worthy Ambassador of Christ, Pillar of Support and Pride of Men’s Fellowship.

The Abuja Archdiocese of the Fellowship went away with the trophies for Bible Quiz and March past as they came first in both competitions.

‎DECENCY GLOBAL NEWS reports that the Conference had in attendance the Prelate, Methodist Church Nigeria, His Eminence, Dr. Oliver Ali Aba, JP; Secretary of Conference, Rt. Rev. Dr. Babatunde Taiwo; Archbishop of Ilesa, His Grace, The Most Rev. Amos Akindeko, JP; Conference Lay President Emeritus, Sir Folu Aremu KJW and Ilesha Arch Lay President, Dame Toyin Ashaolu.

‎The Conference had delegates in attendance from over 90 Dioceses and all the 23 Archdioceses in the Conference Area.
