The South West Zonal Executive meeting of Methodist Men’s Fellowship has bemoaned the lukewarm and non-challant attitudes of members of the Young Mens Fellowship of the Church in joining the Men’s Fellowship even after attaining the age stipulated by the rules set by the Premier Church – Methodist Church Nigeria.
The meeting advised the Men’s Fellowship at all level to keep on embracing, advising and praying for them until they turn a new leaf while appealing to the Conference of Methodist Church Nigeria to always ensure enforcement and obedience to her rules and regulations.

These were part of the resolutions of the zonal meeting held recently at Revd. Edward Jones Methodist Cathedral, Ilogbe, Ifaki Ekiti in the Archdiocese of Ekiti.

The meeting chaired by the Zonal President, Sir Dr. Dele Taiwo KJW had in attendance the National President of the Fellowship, Sir Dr Kehinde Olasunkanmi Oladeji KJW, Executive Officers of the Zone, President, Secretary, Treasurer and Coordinator of each Archdiocese within the zone and Officers of the Archdiocese and Cathedral of Ifaki also commended the tenacity and commitment of members of the Youth Fellowship from the zone in fighting the alleged injustice meted to them during the Youth Fellowship Conference held in Port Harcourt and “called for more efforts until the wrong is corrected.”


According to a statement by the Zonal Secretary, Bro A.S.J. Dosu, there were courtesy visits to the Archbishop and Bishop of Ifaki, Most Rev. Dr. Sunday Oluyemisi Ogunlere and His Royal Majesty Oba John Adegbenro Falore Ajibade III The Olufaki of Ifaki Land during the zonal meeting.
The statement added: “The meeting in session saluted the courage of our Youths in the region for fighting against injustice meted on them during their last election at their National Conference held in 2024 at Port Harcourt. It also frowned at the Church leadership for supporting the injustice. Furthermore, the meeting solicited for support for our youths in other to ensure that justice is attained.
”The meeting applauded Ikorodu Diocese for paying the National Conference dues for this year and appealed to all Dioceses to ensure payment before August 31st.
”Ahead of the Fellowship’s Biennial Conference holding in Ilesa by November 2025, the meeting appreciated the readiness of Ilesa Archdiocese to host the Conference and was advised to ensure that no stone was left unturned. It also solicited for support from Archdioceses by way of sourcing for eminent personalities for the award ceremony that will come up at the Conference.
”The meeting thanked God upon some members whose their birthdays fell in the month of July especially Elder Yemi Lisa OOW whose birthday fell on 17th July. It also thanked God on behalf of Very Rev. Olalekan Dan Kazeem and Very Rev. Akin Odofin for surviving robbery attacked while on their way back home from last NECO meeting held in Lagos.

“The meeting appreciated all Archdioceses for embracing the T-shirt project, it appealed to the leadership to ensure that everyone that will attend the National Conference have a copy.
”The meeting in session appreciated the President and the Executives of Ifaki Archdiocese for the successful hosting of the meeting and appealed for increase in the number of members attending meetings.
Earlier, The Very Rev. G. O. Tehinbola, the Cathedral Presbyter had conducted the Welcome/Eucharist Service on behalf of the Archbishop.

His Sermon was titled: “The power of Unity” and advised men to live in unity amongst all people and at all times.
