It was a gathering of “who is who” on Sunday January 25th at Wesley Methodist Cathedral Kaduna as dignitaries converged to witness the enthronement of His Grace, The Most Revd Ibrahim Y. Chindo as the Archbishop of Methodist Archdiocese of Kaduna.

The Prelate, Methodist Church Nigeria, His Eminence Dr Oliver Ali Aba JP assisted by The Rt Revd Dr Babatunde Abiodun Taiwo JP, the Secretary of Conference officiated the service which saw Archbishop Chindo as the first indigenous Head of the Archdiocese of Kaduna since inception.

His Excellency, Senator Uba Sani, the Governor of Kaduna State, ably represented by Barr James Kayip PhD, the Honourable Commissioner for Justice am Attorney General of the state; Air Cdre Jekada, the Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, APC, in Kaduna State and the traditional ruler of Archbishop Chindo’s community, Agwam Kajju II, Mr Luka Kogi topped the list of dignitaries at the service.

The service had the full compliments of clergy of all categories including over 15 Bishops and Archbishops, Conference and Abuja Archdiocesan Lay Presidents, Sir (Ide) Ifeanyi Nwokedi Okechukwu and Sir AVM John Kayode-Beckley PhD, the National Public Relations Officer of Men’s Fellowship, Sir ‘Tunde Babalola JP; Ugwumba of Abuja and the Diocesan Men’s Fellowship President of Diocese of Kubwa, Chief Dr Austin Nwankwo OOW and Archdiocesan officers of the Archdiocese of Kaduna.
In his sermon titled: “Be steadfast in serving the Lord”, the Archbishop quoted from 1 Corinthians 15 vs 58 and declared that Christians especially the Methodist people must brace up in evangelism and take Kaduna State for Jesus Christ.
Chindo noted that if the kidnappers and bandits have encounter with Jesus Christ, they would not engage in Criminalities.
”The onus is on all of us in Kaduna Archdiocese to go all out and preach Jesus Christ, to win those on the other side for God.”
He emphasized that God demands the best we can offer as Christians in the propagation of the Gospel.

Archbishop Chindo commended Senator Uba Sani administration noting that Christians do not care which faith the political leaders comes from but determined to be governed with the fear of the Almighty God.
He admonished the governor to continue to deliver on good governance to the people of the state.
Governor Sani in his remarks, hailed the election of a Kaduna State son as the Archbishop and commended Chindo for always preaching religious tolerance and being at the forefront of ensuring peaceful coexistence in the state.

Hailed from Bajju tribe in Galadima Madakiya District of Zangon Kataf LGA of Kaduna State, Archbishop Chindo was born on December 23rd 1964.
Chindo takes pleasure in rural evangelism and church planting and his delight is in teaching, counseling and healing ministry.

He was promoted Presbyter n Methodist Church Nigeria n year 2000 in Suleja Circuit of the them Abuja Archdiocese, became Bishop of Jos in Plateau State after a stint as Principal of Hassan Odukale Methodist Theological College. His election as an Archbishop came last August while holding sway as the Bishop of Kano.

Archdiocese of Kaduna comprises of Zokwa Diocese, Sokoto Diocese, North East Diocese, Lafia Diocese, Kano Diocese, Jos and Kaduna Dioceses.
