Music icon Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has expressed optimism about Nigeria’s development, stating that the country is better off now compared to previous years.
In a recent interview with Wazobia TV, 2Baba acknowledged that challenges persist, but emphasised that progress has been made.
When asked about his involvement in politics, 2Baba revealed he had previously supported a campaign in a neutral role and plans to continue contributing to the nation’s growth in his own way.
He described himself as a self-appointed ambassador for Nigeria.
He said, “We are better off than many years ago. Just look at it. It’s still ongoing, but I will continue doing it. I will set up my own position and try to make a difference. I’ll try to make it work because I know where I stand. I have personally appointed myself as an ambassador of Nigeria, an ambassador everywhere. I am a self-appointed ambassador of Nigeria everywhere.”
2Baba’s remarks come amid ongoing discussions about Nigeria’s socio-political landscape, with some critics citing his old song, “E Be Like Say,” as reflective of current issues.
However, the singer remains committed to positively representing the country through his music and actions.
