Nigeria and Tanzania will meet at the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations for the second time in history when they clash in Group C at AFCON 2025 in Morocco.
The match will be played on Tuesday in Fes, with kick-off scheduled for 18:30 local time (17:30 GMT).
The Super Eagles and the Taifa Stars last faced each other at the AFCON finals 45 years ago, during the 1980 tournament hosted by Nigeria.
On that occasion, the hosts began their campaign with a 3–1 victory over Tanzania in Lagos before going on to lift their first continental title.
Overall, the two sides have met seven times in all competitions. Nigeria remain unbeaten in the fixture, recording four wins and three draws.
Their most recent meetings came during qualification for the 2017 AFCON, with a goalless draw in Dar es Salaam in 2015 followed by a 1–0 Nigerian win in Uyo in 2016.

Tanzania have also lost all three of their previous opening matches at the finals.
