‎Nigeria and Tanzania will meet at the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations for the second time in history when they clash in Group C at AFCON 2025 in Morocco.

‎The match will be played on Tuesday in Fes, with kick-off scheduled for 18:30 local time (17:30 GMT).

‎The Super Eagles and the Taifa Stars last faced each other at the AFCON finals 45 years ago, during the 1980 tournament hosted by Nigeria.

‎On that occasion, the hosts began their campaign with a 3–1 victory over Tanzania in Lagos before going on to lift their first continental title.

‎Overall, the two sides have met seven times in all competitions. Nigeria remain unbeaten in the fixture, recording four wins and three draws.

‎Their most recent meetings came during qualification for the 2017 AFCON, with a goalless draw in Dar es Salaam in 2015 followed by a 1–0 Nigerian win in Uyo in 2016.
