Just as news broke over the weekend that the military junta has taken over government in Madagascar, one of Nigeria’s neighbours, a renowned cleric, Primate Elijah Ayodele has issued a grave warning, alleging that some powerful Nigerians are actively plotting to remove President Bola Tinubu from office through an unconstitutional coup. The spiritual leader claims a conspiracy is underway to unseat the president.
He stated that the attempt to unseat Tinubu unconstitutionally could occur between November and January. Ayodele urged the National Security Adviser, the Department of State Services, and the Chief of Army Staff to exercise extreme caution regarding this alleged threat.
Military Branches Implicated in Alleged Plot
Primate Ayodele’s warning specifically named several branches of the armed forces. He asserted that the Nigerian Navy, Air Force, and even the Army itself would be involved in the plot to remove Tinubu. The cleric described the conspirators as “gangs” with “unbelievable names.”
