Nigerians especially Christians have been urged to pray for God’s continuous peace and tranquility in the country especially in Rivers State that is currently under state of emergency declared by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The National President, Methodist Men’s Fellowship, Sir Dr Kehinde Olasunkanmi Oladeji KJW made the appeal in his address to the March 2025 National Executive Committee, (NECO) meeting held in Lagos at the weekend.

According to him, “what happened to the eyes, affect the entire body. Methodist Men’s Fellowship members are in Rivers State, the effect of the declaration of the state of emergency would still affect them, hence the need for the call for the prayer for restoration of peace.
Sir Oladeji wants Nigeria and Nigerians to invite Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace to her affairs for all to be well with the nation.
The Very Rev P. A. Akindeko, the Synod Secretary of Trinity Church Council and Presbyter of MCN Ketu Circuit had declared the meeting opened on behalf of the hosting Bishop, Rt Rev Oladapo Babalola who was unavoidably absent.

In his Sermon, the Proto Presbyter, Methodist Church Council, Tinubu, The Very Rev Osin Bamidele, assured Nigerians would come out of her present economic doldrum.
The sermon which centered on the Church Conference theme for the year, “He will rise again”, Very Rev Osin said is “powerful to attend to all our needs, only for us to call him to our situation.”
According to him, “Our spiritual lives need Jesus to bring it back to life.
Our families union with our wives , children, relatives need Jesus to bring it back to life.
“Our careers, businesses, professions need Jesus to bring them back to life. Our financial life too – Expenses are more than the income, it needs Jesus Christ’s intervention to bring it back to life.
“Our nation economy will rise again if we can have faith and call on Jesus to heal our land. God says in 2Chronicles 7:14 “if my people who are called by my name can repent from their sins and humble themselves and seek my face and pray to me I will hear and will heal their land”.

He concluded that “Methodist Church Nigeria will rise again if we can allow God to intervene in all our challenges.”
The meeting attended by Leadership of the Men’s Fellowship from 15 Archdioceses across the Conference Area and the Trinity Church Council took far reaching decisions on the spiritual upliftment of male folk in the premier church – Methodist Church Nigeria.
Ahead of the Fellowship’d biennial Conference holding in Ilesha by November 2025, NECO approved a 7-member Central Planning Committee with Sir Oye Omofioye KJW as Chairman and Bro ASJ Dosu as Secretary. Other members are Sir Jacob Oladele Maraiyesa, Sir Dr Dele Taiwo, Bro Yemi Lisa OOW, Bro Oluwasegun Bamgbose and Very Rev DanKazeem. Sub committees to be constituted by the Secretariat.

Methodist NECO meeting holds twice a year in March and September.
