*NPC CHAIRMAN, DR. AMINU YUSUF, MOURNS PASSING OF TARABA STATE DIRECTOR, KARIMU FWASHAN YAKUBU*
The Chairman of National Population Commission (NPC), Dr. Aminu Yusuf, has expressed profound sadness over the passing of the Commission’s Taraba State Director, Mr. Karimu Fwashan Yakubu, who died today, 24 January 2026, at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Jalingo.
Dr. Yusuf described the late Yakubu as “a dedicated public servant whose unwavering commitment to national development, integrity, and exemplary leadership left an indelible imprint on the Commission.”
He noted that Mr. Yakubu’s remarkable contributions to the ideals and objectives of the NPC would continue to inspire colleagues and associates who had the privilege of working with him. The Chairman further remarked that his death represents “a great loss not only to the Commission but also to his family, the people of Taraba State, and the nation at large.”
Reaffirming his administration’s pledge to prioritize staff welfare under his 7-Point Agenda, Dr. Yusuf assured that the Commission will stand firmly by the deceased’s family during this painful period.
The NPC Chairman extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, the NPC Federal Commissioner representing Taraba State and staff of the Taraba State office, and the entire NPC workforce, urging them to find comfort in the enduring legacy of dedication, discipline, and patriotism exemplified by the late Mr. Yakubu throughout his career.
Dr. Yusuf further stated that the Commission will honour Mr. Yakubu’s memory by continuing to uphold the principles of diligence and service that defined his life and work. He prayed for Allah to forgive Mr. Karimu Fwashan Yakubu’s shortcomings and grant his soul Aljannatul Firdaus.
