Senate President Akpabio Meets Wike After PDP Hands Party Structures To Governor Fubara

Senate President, Godswill Akpabio met with Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike at the latter’s Asokoro, Abuja residence on Wednesday.

While the reason for the meeting is yet to be established, it comes hours after the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors forum said the structures of the party in the state will be inherited by Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

Wike, a chieftain of the PDP is at loggerheads with the leadership of his party. That fracas with his successor has cast a dark cloud on the party as they prepare for the elections in Edo State.

Politics Nigeria also reported that Wike met with the Senator Adolphus Wabara-led Board of Trustees of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on Tuesday night.

It would be recalled that in August, the BoT had written to Wike, seeking a meeting to resolve the lingering crisis in the party, especially in Rivers State, days after meeting with the Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara.
