Senegal Prepare An Appeal To The Court Of Arbitration For Sport

The Senegalese Football Federation’s in response following CAF’s decision has indicated interest to proceed with an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

DECENCY GLOBAL NEWS recalled that the Senegal national team defeated Morocco in the final of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, but CAF later annulled the result and awarded the title to Morocco.

Details: According to Ben Jacobs, Senegal are ready to respond to CAF’s actions and are exploring legal options regarding the situation. They could file an immediate appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

We previously reported that Senegalese representatives consider the decision to be political rather than sporting. They are outraged by the ruling and are even considering withdrawing from future Africa Cup of Nations tournaments.

Reminder: The reason for such a severe verdict was Senegal’s violation of Articles 82 and 84 of the tournament regulations.

The committee ruled that the Senegalese players’ decision to leave the field in protest against a late penalty awarded in regulation time constituted a refusal to continue the match.
