Sexual Harassment Claims in Nigerian Senate: Former Governor Fayemi Petitions Over Allegations by Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan

The sexual harassment controversy surrounding Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has escalated as former Ekiti State Governor, Chief Kayode Fayemi, has filed a formal petition with the Senate regarding allegedly defamatory statements made against him.

During a Senate session on Wednesday, March 5, Senator Cyril Fasuyi, representing Ekiti North Senatorial District, stated that Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan falsely accused Fayemi of sexual harassment. She also allegedly claimed that Fayemi was involved in selling the Ajaokuta Steel Mill.

Fasuyi clarified that contrary to Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s allegations, the Federal Government maintains complete ownership of the Ajaokuta Steel Mill.

This development comes amid Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s ongoing sexual harassment claim against Senate President Goodluck Akpabio.

Meanwhile, writer Hafisat Musa from Abuja has accused Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan of “habitually making sexual harassment claims.”
