CITATION OF SIR UWEM JONAH USEH
Sir Uwem Jonah Useh hails from Essien Udim Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. He is a distinguished scientist, environmental expert, and dedicated public servant. With a B.SC. in Biochemistry, M.SC in Environmental Resources Management and a Ph.D. in view, he has over two decades of experience spanning government, private sector, and non-governmental organizations, significantly contributing to science, energy, environment, and sustainable development.Sir Uwem has played a leading role in several national and international programs, including serving as Nigeria’s National Focal Point for the World Bank-assisted West Africa Coastal Area Management Program (WACA).
He has also been instrumental in major climate change initiatives, such as Nigeria’s Energy Transition Plan, the country’s Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) to the Paris Agreement, and the Comprehensive Plan of Action for Flood Disaster Management. His impact in environmental policy, resilience planning, and sustainable development has earned him national recognition, including the award for Best Creative and Innovative Writer in the Federal Civil Service of Nigeria during the 2016 Nigeria Civil Service Week.
As a Senior Technical Assistant at the Federal Capital Territory Administration, Sir Uwem has contributed to the socio-economic development of the FCT through key policy initiatives. He has chaired and participated in various committees, including The Nigeria Human Capital Opportunities for Prosperity and Equality (HOPE), the Committee for the Review of Land Rates in the FCT, and the FCT Steering Committee on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). His expertise in economic planning and revenue generation has influenced key policies on investment and public-private partnerships, ensuring strategic growth in Nigeria’s capital territory.Beyond his professional accomplishments, Sir Uwem is a passionate advocate of Christian music and hymnology.
As the founder of the Festival of 12 Hymns, he has revived hymn singing in churches and communities. He serves as the Director of Music at the Methodist Church Nigeria, Diocese of Kubwa, Abuja, and has composed numerous gospel anthems and hymns.
In recognition of his contributions to Christian music, he was conferred with the prestigious Knight of Charles Wesley (KCW) by the Methodist Church Nigeria in 2018. He also played a crucial role in the All-African Conference of Churches in 2023, where he served as the Chairman of the Music Sub-Committee.Sir Uwem’s commitment to the Cathedral Circuit is evident in his numerous Church development efforts. He has supported many church evangelism programs. As the cathedral Circuit Steward between 2018 to 2024, he facilitated the procurement of land for the Churches at New Bwari, Sabon Wuse, Kabba and Gwida.
His publication of two hymn books on Abiding Grace Hymnals with Commentaries as well as Abiding Grace Hymns & Anthems in January 2025 has helped reignite the love for hymn singing in our churches and communities as well as preserve the rich heritage of the church.
His dedication to the propagation of the gospel through music including church development makes him highly deserving of the prestigious Cathedral Circuit Award of Defender of Christian Faith, as conferred by the Leadership of the Cathedral Circuit.

A graduate of Public Administration from Dorbern Polytechnic and University of Calabar respectively.
Chief Austin Nwankwo, the incumbent President, Kubwa Diocese Men’s Fellowship, has held several positions in the church including youth general secretary (MCN kubwa), Trinity band secretary (Cathedral of unity) assistant and council secretary cathedral of grace, Methodist Awardees of the Officer of the Order of Wesley, (OOW).
Presently a Senior Society Steward, Kubwa Cathedral of Grace.
Chief Austin Nwankwo is a lover of football in and out of Abuja, he is from inception the chairman of Bishops cup competition in the Diocese of Kubwa for the 6 years and newly appointed for the same role in May 2025, he is the Patron of Youth Fellowship Diocese of Kubwa and as well Patron, Archdiocesan Youth Fellowship of Abuja.
Chief Dr Austin Nwankwo is the former Chairman of Umuigu Development Association Abuja branch and the former present President of the Oboro Community Welfare Association, Abuja branch.
He is married to a very amiable wife, Lolo Peace Enyongekere Nwankwo and they are blessed with three children.

A Knight of John Wesley, (KJW); Officer of the Order of Wesley’s, (OOW) and Accredited Lay Preacher of Methodist Church Nigeria since 2005. He is the National Public Relations Officer (NPRO) of Methodist Men’s Fellowship.
He has held several leadership positions in the Church including Pioneer Quarterly Meeting Secretary of Old Suleja Circuit and Kubwa Circuit (now Cathedral Circuit); Pioneer Public Relations Officer of Diocese of Kubwa from 2012 to 2018. Senior Church Steward, MCN Kubwa (now Cathedral of Grace, Kubwa) for six years. Chaired several church committees. A faithful Methodist and Guilder, he chairs the Cathedral of Grace Wesley Guild and The President of Christ Ambassadors Society of the same church.

SUMMARY – I hold a Ph.D in Educational Evaluation. I retired from Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), Nigeria, as Director of Quality Assurance after participating in various Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E), data-collection and training activities at various levels and in all States and the Federal Capital Territory in Nigeria from 1990 to 2015, and even after retirement in 2015. In 2017, I was engaged as a Sub-Consultant by Cambridge Education Nigeria Limited (CENL) on the Medium-Term Basic Education Strategic Plan (MTBESP) for Nigeria. In 2018, I was involved by Universal Basic Education Commission, Nigeria, as a member of a team that wrote the National Report of the 2017 National Assessment of Learning Achievement in Basic Education (NALABE) in Nigeria. I was involved in large-scale assessment of learning achievement in Nigeria for many years under the UBE Programme. I have the competence to conduct all types of evaluation-related activities.
