Sunday Sermon: Choose to Live in Abundance By Pastor Prof Durodola O. A.

Text: The Bible verse you’re looking for is Psalm 115:14-15, which says, “The Lord shall increase you more and more, you and your children.” This verse is a beautiful promise from God, reminding us that He will continue to bless and increase us, along with our families, as we trust in Him

Introduction
In a world where scarcity and lack seem to dominate the headlines, it’s easy to get caught up in a mindset of limitation. But as Christians, we are called to live in abundance – not just financially, but in every area of our lives.
In John 10:10, Jesus says, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” Today, we’re going to explore what it means to live in abundance and how we can choose to experience the fullness of life that Jesus promises.

Five Keys to Living in Abundance

Renew Your Mind

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing, and perfect will.” – Romans 12:2 (NIV)

To live in abundance, we need to renew our minds and think differently about our circumstances. We need to focus on what God says is possible, rather than what the world says is impossible.

Trust in God’s Provision

“And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:19 (NIV)

To live in abundance, we need to trust that God is our provider and that He will meet all our needs. We need to have faith that He is working everything out for our good, even when we can’t see it.

Live a Life of Generosity
“Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” – 2 Corinthians 9:6-7 (NIV)

To live in abundance, we need to live a life of generosity. We need to be willing to give freely of our time, talent, and resources, trusting that God will multiply them back to us.

Focus on What You Have, Not What You Don’t Have
“But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it.” – 1 Timothy 6:6-7 (NIV)

To live in abundance, we need to focus on what we have, not what we don’t have. We need to cultivate a spirit of contentment and gratitude, recognizing that everything we have comes from God.

Seek First the Kingdom of God
“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” – Matthew 6:33 (NIV)

To live in abundance, we need to seek first the kingdom of God. We need to prioritize our relationship with Him and seek to align our lives with His will. When we do, we can trust that He will provide everything we need to live a life of abundance.

Conclusion
Living in abundance is not just about having more stuff; it’s about living a life that is full and meaningful. It’s about trusting in God’s provision, living a life of generosity, focusing on what you have, seeking first the kingdom of God, and renewing your mind. As we choose to live in abundance, we can trust that God will meet all our needs and that we will experience the fullness of life that Jesus promises.

“Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will do this.” – Psalm 37:4-5 (NIV)

Let’s choose to live in abundance today and trust that God will do great things in our lives.
