Text: Deut 2:24 – Rise ye up, take your journey and pass over the river Arnon; behold I have given into thine hand, Sihon the Amorite, king of Sihon and his land: begin to possess it and contend with him in battle.
Introduction:
To cross over means:
Moving from one place to another.
- Shifting from a season to another e.g. from youth to adult, from primary school to secondary school etc.
- Change of status or level e.g. from bachelor to married.
- From unemployed or joblessness to gainful employment.
Examples of memorable, landmark life crossing over events include the following:-
1) The Israelites leaving Egypt to Canaan land. (Ex 3:7-8)
2) Nigeria Independence in 1960 from colonial masters.
3) Growing from youth to adult, changing from bachelor or single to married life.
Benefits of Crossing over
Mercy of God that accompanies a man from one level to another is designed to bring numerous benefits unto us, which includes the following;
A) Greater blessings are at the other side Prov 4:18. Joseph throne was waiting for him at the other side , in Egypt. (Gen 41:40)
B) Fulfilment of God’s promise lays in front of future. The Israelites access their promised land of milk and honey at the other side, Canaan. (Joshua 21:43-45)
C) Crossing over most times goes with change of status, thereby empowers man to escape some shame of the former level. Sarah escape the shame of barrenness with the arrival of Isaac. (Gen. 21:6-7)
HOW TO MAXIMIZE YOUR CROSSING OVER
1- Despise not a little beginning, celebrate the small for inside it is the big blessing. (Job 8:7)
2- Eliminate sin, iniquities pulls man down and takes you back to the old level. (Isaiah 59:1-3)
3- See through your eyes of faith, greater blessings in your new level
(Gen 13:15)

Congratulations on Your crossing over from last year to the new year, I pray you will enjoy positive and progressive change of status.
From glory to greater glory shall be your testimony this new year In Jesus Name Amen.
