Text : 1 John 2:22 Who is the liar? It is whoever denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a person is the antichrist —denying the Father and the Son.
Lying is a deliberate act of deception, spoken or acted, intending to mislead others (Proverbs 12:22). It’s a seed sown in the garden of relationships, bearing fruit of:
- Distrust (Psalm 101:7)
- Betrayal (Matthew 12:36-37)
- Destruction (Matthew 12:36-37)
- Broken relationships (Psalm 101:7)
- Spiritual death (John 8:44)
- Eternal separation from God (Revelation 21:8)
- Internal guilt and shame (Proverbs 13:15)
- Loss of credibility and reputation (Proverbs 25:10)
- Entanglement in a web of deceit (Matthew 12:36-37)
- Missed opportunities and blessings (2 Corinthians 4:2)
- REFLECTION
The Bible warns us: “The Lord detests lying lips” (Proverbs 12:22). Choose truth, for it sets us free (John 8:32). Let integrity be our guiding principle, reflecting the character of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Truth (John 14:6). Conclusion :
Lying may seem like a temporary escape, but it’s a permanent trap. It may appear to save us, but it ultimately destroys us. Let us courageously choose truth, even when it’s hard, and watch our lives flourish with freedom, trust, and blessing. Remember, honesty is the seed that bears fruit of life, while lying is the seed that yields death. Choose life, choose truth! PRAYER
