Super Eagles Goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali Bobo Replies South Africans Threatening Him Not To Return To Their Country

Super Eagles of Nigeria first choice goalkeeper at the ongoing 2023 African Cup of Nations in Cote D’Ivoire, has responded to threats from South Africans.

The heroics of Stanley Nwabali Bobo in the super Eagles of Nigeria semi final match against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa, as anticipated, pitched him against South African nationals where he plies his trade at Chippa United FC.

He has thereafter been threatened by South Africans not to return to their country over his saving two penalties of South African players during the penalty shootout between the two teams.

However, taking to his Twitter handle, Stanley Nwabali Bobo reminisced his heroics on Wednesday night as well as expressed his heartfelt gladness over his dream come-true.

In his reaction to the threats by South Africans, Stanley Nwabali revealed his love for South Africa as well as their nationals.

“This is a game I’m born to play. A night to remember!!! I felt every bit of it!!! Brick by brick and dreams are coming true. No love lost at all. I still love South Africa as much as their fans loves me and I love this team🇳🇬with all my heart,🙏🏽🧤”, he tweeted.

Despite the commendable political history between south Africa and Nigeria especially Nigeria’s support to South Africa during its apartheid, it appears in recent times that such a symbiotic relationship that existed between the two prominent African nations is tilting towards rivalry with incessant xenophobic attacks on Nigeria’s and other African countries nationals living in South Africa.

Ahead of the semi-final match between Nigeria and South Africa, the Nigeria High Commission in South Africa, issued advisory to Nigerians living in South Africa to avoid provocative celebrations should Nigeria emerged victorious at the expense of South Africa.

The High Commission suggested that such might trigger xenophobic attacks.
