‎Super Falcons Land In WAFCON Final As Nigeria Edges Out South Africa By 2-1

‎The Super Falcons of Nigeria recorded a 2-1 victory against the Banyana Banyana of South Africa in a semifinal WAFCON clash on Tuesday, July 22, 2025.

‎It was a cagey affair lacking adventure from the attacking players.

‎Both sides defended well with very little chances created to start the game.

‎However, just before the halftime break Nigeria were awarded a penalty.

‎Captain Rasheedat Ajibade stepped up to convert the spot kick to give Nigeria the lead.

‎In the second half, South Africa showed urgency and were rewarded with goal by Linda Motlhalo in the 60th minute.

‎Michelle Alozie was the hero as the Super Falcons of Nigeria defeated the Banyana Banyana of South Africa to book a place in the WAFCON final.
