The Nigerian military has conducted successful raids in Katsina State, eliminating 31 bandits and destroying their camps in two distinct operations.
During the first mission, troops from Operation Fansan Yamma engaged criminals in Maigora village, Faskari LGA, eliminating 12, including a notorious leader called Dogo, and seizing motorcycles.
The confrontation started when terrorists launched an attack on the village, leading to five casualties. Later, seven more were killed as they attempted a counterattack.
In another offensive, the air component of Operation Fansan Yamma carried out airstrikes on hideouts in Unguwar Goga Hillforest, Ruwan Godiya Ward, within Faskari LGA.
These strikes specifically targeted the camps of infamous bandit leaders Alhaji Gero and Alhaji Riga, resulting in 19 bandits being neutralised and their bases destroyed.
Military intelligence reports indicate that security forces are ramping up efforts in the North West, aiming to disrupt the criminals’ operations and supply networks.
Both aerial and ground surveillance are actively monitoring for any remaining or fleeing criminals to prevent them from regrouping or launching further attacks.
