Two Dead, Many Trapped As Two-storey Building Collapses In Lagos

Two persons have been confirmed dead and five injured with many others trapped after a two-storey building collapsed in Lagos.

Another account indicated that the collapsed two-storey building under construction resulted in the yet-to-be-determined deaths.

The incident occurred at Mega Mall Estate, Mobile Road in Inikpa Villa, Ikota, Ajah.

The National Emergency Management Agency confirmed the collapse, with the Lagos Office Coordinator, Ibrahim Farinloye, stating that the cause remains unknown.

“Information indicates that more people are likely trapped in the rubble. Search and rescue operation is ongoing. Investigation would be conducted to determine the cause of collapse,” Farinloye said.

Meanwhile, videos circulating on social media show emergency teams trying to rescue trapped persons from the collapsed building.
