Civil servants in Kogi State have been thrown into wild jubilation as they received their April salary in full and for some class of workers, first time in 16 years.
It will be recalled that one of the issues against the administration of Yahaya Bello was paying of salary in percentage.
However, during his campaign, the incumbent governor, Usman Ododo promised to change the story and ensure that the public workers in the confluence state receive their salaries in full.
Some civil servants in the state have taken to social media to express their delight following the payment of their April salary in full, just as the governor promised them.
Staff of the local governments said this is the first time they’ll be receiving a full salary in 16 years and the development has brought joy and relief to them as they’ve been facing partial salary payments for years.
Some residents of the state that spoke to our correspondent, said the governor was able to keep to his word through a combination of efficient resource management and prioritization of workers’ welfare and they assured that should this continue, their moral will be boosted and their productivity will greatly improve.
They expressed their gratitude and appreciation to Governor Ododo, praising his administration for taking bold steps in addressing the long-standing issue of partial salary payments.
