While admonishing husbands to make their marriages work warned against being a bully husband/father.

He said there is no room for comparison in marriage emphasizing that having made the long life decision of marriage, partners should accept his/her spouse as God ordained for one another and make their home a happy one.

On the other hand, the cleric told women not to be a nagging wife, but prayerful and a good dresser.

“Treat your husband as a king. Kings value respect and obedience. Let your husband be the last signatory on issues. if you want to be happy in your marriage, always respect your husband,” he counselled.

Venerable Akale advised against catering for a large family in this age dismissing that “the notion of the more, the merrier does not work for catering for the needs of children in the family”.

He concluded that “an husband should be a lover, friend, accommodating and father figure and Not a bully”.

The Vicar and his wife, Mrs Comfort Akale, then led the church in the renewal of their marital vows and exchange of gifts by couples.

Highlights of the mothering Sunday was presentation by mothers and special thanksgiving.

Special intercessory prayer sessions were held for the healing of troubled homes and marriages.
