‎Keir Starmer has resigned as the United Kingdom Prime Minister and leader of the Labour Party.

‎Speaking on Monday outside 10 Downing Street, Starmer anchored his decision to quit on “putting the country I love first”.

‎Starmer thanks his “fantastic wife, Vic”, describing her as a “rock”.

‎He also says he wants to be the “best dad I can to my beautiful children, who are my pride and joy”

‎BBC reports that Andy Burnham – who could replace the PM – will be in Westminster today to be sworn in as MP for Makerfield, after winning the by-election last week.
