It was celebration galore on Thursday, July 30, 2026 as the prestigious School for the Gifted Gwagwalada, Abuja flung its gate opened for visitors, guests and well wishers to celebrate the latest graduating students of the 2025/2026 session.
It was an occasion to celebrate excellence among the graduating students and teachers while the well behaved students also went home with laurels.
The major highlights of the day were the recognition of students who ‘dusted’ and passed excellently the 2026 JAMB examination by scoring over 300 marks out of the available 400 with some teachers receiving Letter of Commendation for superlative performance during the session while Miss Olasehinde Muibat Toyin got the Principal’s Integrity Award.
The Gifted students who excelled with over 300 marks in the 2026 JAMB included Funom Jedidiah Funom, Muhammad Mahmoud Dawoud, Mukhtar Ibrahim Oyinoyi, Inyang Utibeabasi Precious, Yusuf Ashraf, Shuaibu Imran Dahiru and Usman Munir Mohammed.
Others included Akinyemi Victory Ayomikun, Kalu Praisegod Ogbonnaya, Oricha Gideon Adinoyi, Yakubu Habibullahi, and Fagbohun Joshua Akinwumi.
The staffers who received Letters of Commendation were Mr Shodeinde Babafemi Samuel, Mrs Olayemi Felicia Foluke, Mr Abubakar Usman, Mrs Daniel Hannah, Mrs Adeowu Blessing Adebayo, Mrs Zaifada Hauwa, Mr Suleiman Ahmed, Mrs Saliu Mario and Mrs Ilori Kemisola Sarah.
In his address of welcome titled “A second chance at Greatness”, Malam Bello Adamu Audu, the Principal, School for the Gifted, Gwagwalada, Abuja went down memory lane and congratulated the graduating students and celebrate the for their dint of hardwork which has now paid of.
”For 3 years, you have been in this school. We have laughed together, we have argued, we have prayed together. Some of you came in as children and you are leaving as young adults. You are not leaving with just certificates, you are leaving with memories, with lessons, and with the name of this school on your back . Wherever you go, people will say that boy/girl is from School for the Gifted, “Make sure they say it with pride.”
Malam Bello Audu admonished them not to give up no matter the challenges they face in future expressing his believe in the graduands that they would always come top.
”Life after school will ask more of you. But I believe in you. Be bold, be diligent and be people of integrity wherever you go.
”Class of 2026, as you go remember our school, remember your values and make a different,” he said.
The duo – Head Boy, Muhammad Mahmoud Dawoud and Atamba Favour, the Head Girl appreciated the Principal and all the teachers for the rigorous training and moral upbringing during their stay in the School for the Gifted and promised not to disappoint them.
There were goodwill messages from some of the parents including Alhaji Sikiru Adenifuja and Mr Aregbesola while Bishop Gbenga Barnabas prayed for both the graduating students and their parents for better prospects in life.
Earlier, the Managing Editor of Decency Global Media, publishers of DECENCY GLOBAL NEWS, the father of one of the Graduands, Sunday Oluwaseyi Babalola had presented the Graduands to the Principal for the conferment of honour, prizes and certificates.
The school’s Vice Principal, Academics, Mrs Alabi Bolatito, had vouched for geniuses in the graduating students and assured them of greater heights in the near future. She later coordinated the distribution of Testimonials and Grade test certificates for the graduands.
Mrs Anjorin, the Vice Principal, Admin appreciated all the Guests and well wishers for making the event a success.
