All is not well with the Nigeria Democratic Congress, (NDC), as the Kwankwaso tendency is threatening to leave over an alleged breach of power sharing formula.
The Kwankwasiyya movement led by Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has reportedly threatened to leave the party if his loyalists are replaced.
The development followed the replacement of several candidates earlier submitted by the Kwankwasiyya bloc, amid allegations of the breach of the power-sharing arrangement.
A document signed by the Kano State NDC Chairman, Hussaini Isah Mairiga, and made available to DECENCY GLOBAL NEWS, said the adjustments were made to reflect the 60/40 agreement on the distribution of elective positions and party offices between the existing NDC structure and the Kwankwasiyya group.
The document was copied to National Leader Senator Seriake Dickson, Kwankwasiyya leader Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and the NDC North-West Zonal Chairman.
Adjustments were also made to State House of Assembly tickets in Dala, Tarauni, Kumbotso, Ungogo, and Dawakin Kudu constituencies.
The NDC maintained that there was an agreement allocating elective positions on a 60-40 basis, with the Kwankwasiyya bloc expected to take 60 percent, while the original party structure retains 40 percent.
Under the revised list, the party approved candidates for several federal constituencies, including:

Nasiru Ali Ahmed – Nassarawa
Kabiru Ishaq Sa’id – Kano Municipal
Barrister Dayyabu Jamilu Ibrahim – Doguwa/Tudun Wada
Muhammad Hamisu Abubakar – Dawakin Tofa/Rimin Gado/Tofa
Ibrahim Bashir Bango – Sumaila/Takai
Abdulmajid Isa Umar Mairigar Fata – Gwale.
