President Bola Tinubu has won the All Progressives Congress, APC presidential primary election with 10,999,967 votes, comprehensively defeating his sole challenger, Stanley Osifo, who polled 16,504 votes across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory FCT.
The results, collated at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja on Sunday, were drawn from direct primary elections conducted simultaneously across all 8,809 wards in the country on Saturday, May 23.
The figures are drawn from the presentations of the various state collation officers. A formal announcement, declaration and presentation of a certificate of return is expected to be made by the Chief Returning Officer before the event is drawn to a close.
Tinubu’s strongest showing came from Adamawa State, where he recorded 644,149 votes, followed closely by Kaduna with 618,914 and Lagos, the commercial capital and his political base, where he polled 814,988 votes — his highest single-state tally.
Imo State returned 582,960 votes for the president, while Kano delivered 500,852.
Osifo, by contrast, mustered only token support in states where he recorded any votes at all. His best returns came from Niger State with 5,248 votes, Kano with 2,675, Bauchi with 2,650 and Abia with 1,007.
He scored zero in 21 of the 37 reporting units, including the FCT, Osun, Kogi, Delta, Ebonyi, Jigawa, Kwara, Borno, Enugu, Kebbi, Ondo, Yobe, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Ekiti, Ogun, Sokoto, Cross River, Taraba, Gombe and Edo, where he polled just one vote.
