Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has comfirmed the appointment of Chairman of the Edo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ),Festus Alenkhe, as substantive Managing Director of the Edo Broadcasting Service (EBS).
Alenkhe was appointed as Acting MD after the resignation of Sulaiman Aledeh.
A statement by Secretary to the Edo State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, described Alenkhe as a seasoned broadcaster with extensive experience in journalism, media practice and public service.
“He has served in various leadership capacities, including Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Edo State Council and Chairman, Nigerian Red Cross, Edo State Branch.
“Until his appointment, Alenkhe served as the Acting Managing Director of EBS, where he demonstrated effective leadership and commitment to the advancement of the Service.
“The appointment, which takes immediate effect, underscores the State Government’s commitment to strengthening the leadership and professional capacity of the Edo Broadcasting Service towards enhanced service delivery to the people of Edo State,” the statement read.
