Astonishing favour is the supernatural, extraordinary, unmerited and enviable kindness of God for man, which changes the recipient’s destiny in a sudden, dramatic and glorious manner. Characteristics and significance of Astonishing Favour
(1) It gives one unique breakthrough, the kind no one has ever enjoyed.
Mary enjoyed it becoming the first and the only woman who gave birth to a child via Holy Spirit instead of through man. ( Lk 1:26-38 )
Joseph was transformed from prisoner to prime minister in a foreign land by favour. (Gen 39:21, 41:37-46 )
Esther rose from slave orphan to becoming queen in a foreign country via astonishing favour of God. (Esther 2:17 ).
(2) Favour gives enviable blessings. Angel Gabriel envied Mary for receiving this kind of favour. (Lk 1: 28-31)
(3) Astonishing favour turns the receiver to generational blessing. Queen Esther rescued her people by divine favour. Joseph saved Egypt from famine by divine favour.

These are stoppers, blockages and hindrances to the unmerited kindness of God. They include;

Bitterness and Unforgiveness (Heb. 12:15)
