‎Five American citizens died on Wednesday in a helicopter crash while sightseeing in Kenya, a US State Department spokesperson said.

‎The US Embassy in Kenya is in contact with local authorities, the spokesperson said in an email received by AFP, conveying US condolences to the families and loved ones of those who died when the helicopter crashed in central Kenya.

‎A check by DECENCY GLOBAL NEWS to the Embassy’s X handle revealed that the crash happened in Samburu county.

‎However, identities of the victims have yet to be released.

‎It read, “Our deepest condolences to the loved ones of those who perished in today’s helicopter crash in Samburu County.

‎“We are in touch with local authorities and providing consular assistance.”
