‎First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has assured Nigerians that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will consolidate his administration’s economic reforms and deliver greater prosperity, stronger economic growth and improved security if re-elected for a second term in the 2027 general elections.

‎The First Lady, who gave the assurance on Saturday at the North-Central Grassroots Mobilisation Network Grand Rally in Lafia, Nasarawa State, declared that the country was already witnessing the positive effects of the President’s difficult economic decisions, particularly in exchange rate stability, renewed investor confidence and infrastructure development.

‎Addressing thousands of All Progressives Congress (APC) supporters drawn from the six North-Central states and the Federal Capital Territory, Mrs Tinubu said the administration was moving decisively from the painful phase of economic reforms towards prosperity, in line with the President’s 66th Independence Day message.

‎She described her husband as a courageous and dependable leader whose commitment to national unity, security and economic transformation had remained unwavering despite the challenges confronting the country.

‎In a statement issued by her Senior Special Assistant on Media, Busola Kukoyi, the First Lady said “President Tinubu is a man who believes in the unity, security, and prosperity of our nation.

‎“The Independence Day message of Mr President, was titled ‘From Reforms to Prosperity, therefore, Mr President is saying that they are going to reform the sector, but now is the time for prosperity, and we can see our economy is stabilizing”, she said.

‎The First Lady maintained that the administration’s reform policies were beginning to restore confidence in Nigeria’s economy, insisting that the country was gradually overcoming the difficulties associated with the government’s adjustment measures.

‎“Foreign exchange is going down, and investors are coming back to Nigeria. Our farmers too, you can see all our governors here, they are doing infrastructural development like no other time before”, she stated.

‎Mrs Tinubu also highlighted the administration’s interventions in food security, nutrition, education and social protection, saying the government was making deliberate efforts to improve the welfare of vulnerable Nigerians, particularly women and children.

‎She disclosed that a food bank programme targeting pregnant women, nursing mothers and malnourished children had recently been concluded as part of efforts to address nutritional deficiencies and improve maternal and child health.

‎“As you see now, we have just finished the food bank programme, where we are helping every child and mothers who are pregnant and also breastfeeding.

‎“This is to ensure that they can have more nutritious food, and also the children that are malnourished can get treatment and also get food to grow healthy”, she explained.

‎The First Lady further identified educational support for young Nigerians as another area receiving attention under the administration, noting that students were benefiting from increased funding interventions.

‎She urged APC supporters and political leaders across the North-Central geopolitical zone to intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections, stressing that Nigerians needed to understand the importance of sustaining the administration’s reform agenda.

‎According to her, President Tinubu has demonstrated the political courage required to confront longstanding national challenges and should be trusted with another mandate to consolidate the gains of his administration.

‎“One thing I want to say is that as we all go back to our various states, tell everyone that Mr President Bola Tinubu is a leader who is very bold. As we can see, he will not stop by being at home to take difficult decisions, he is a leader who can be trusted to lead us into prosperity”, she declared.

‎Mrs Tinubu consequently charged party faithful to return to their respective states and communities with the message that a second term for the Tinubu-Shettima administration would translate into greater economic opportunities, improved security and accelerated national development.

‎She maintained that continuity in governance would enable the administration to build a stronger economy, safer communities and a more prosperous Nigeria.

‎“Therefore, vote for continuity, vote for capacity, vote for prosperity, vote for the re-election of Mr President and all the candidates of APC from top to bottom”, she appealed.

‎The rally, which attracted a large turnout of APC members and supporters from across the North-Central zone, was attended by prominent party leaders, including the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda; Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum and Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma; and governors from the geopolitical zone.

‎Other speakers at the event expressed confidence in President Tinubu’s leadership and endorsed his re-election alongside Vice President Kashim Shettima, arguing that another mandate for the APC administration would provide an opportunity to consolidate ongoing reforms and accelerate development.

‎They urged party members to sustain grassroots engagement and mobilisation, expressing confidence that the North-Central region would play a significant role in securing victory for the President and other APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.
