Methodist Cathedral of Unity, Wuse, Abuja was the convergence point as family, friends, relatives and Methodist faithful across all the Archdioceses in the Northern Region joined the family of Archbishop Emeritus of the Archdiocese of Abuja, His Grace Most Revd Dr Joseph Oche Job and his beloved wife, Dame Elizabeth Onyaoche Job at the Golden Marriage Anniversary.
The Prelate, Methodist Church Nigeria, His Eminence, Dr Oliver Ali Aba JP represented by his wife, Deaconess Maria Aba led the pack of congregants which included Four Archbishops and a score of Methodist Bishops to return thanksgiving to God for the drums as they host families, friends, Methodist faithful and well wishes in a service of gratitude and Thanksgiving to the Almighty God.
Prelate Aba eulogized Archbishop Job for his forthrightness and love for the Methodists of Northern extraction and pray that the Lord would continue to bless him in retirement.
The Archbishop of Abuja, Most Revd Dr Michael Akinwale congratulated the celebrants for the unique and milestone celebration of Golden Marriage Anniversary.
He admonished them to continue in their selfless service to the community and Methodist Church Nigeria which the couple hold dearly.
Archbishop Akinwale them prayed for them to continue to enjoy their old age on good health, peace and happiness over their children and grandchildren.
Highlights of the Thanksgiving service was the choral speech presentation by members of the Women Fellowship from the Diocese of Kubwa on Luke 1 vs 45 to 55.
The celebration later moved to the National Christian Center Abuja where guests and celebrants were treated to sumptuous meals and cultural display with invited traditional dancers thrilling the audience.
The Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Dame Offonmbuk Charles Akpabio Esq, in her vote of thank appreciated all that created time to honour the family of Emeritus Archbishop Job and prayed that they receive the blessings attached to honouring men of God.
There was also the cutting of the anniversary cake. Supervised by the Prelate’s wife, Deaconess Maria Aba.
Dignitaries at the occasion included members of the Abuja Chapter of Council of Knights, as well as Methodist Archbishops from Kaduna, Benue, and Enone with several Bishops from across the Dioceses in all the component Archdioceses in the Northern Region.
